Atiya from May 13th, recently invited me to do a blog tour. I should be studying, but I’ve been excited that she thought of me for this post, and wanted to post this fairly soon. Check out her own Blog Tour and her incredibly inspiring blog!
These are the rules: Answer four questions about your creative process that lets other bloggers and visitors know what inspires you to do what you do. Pass the tour on up to four other bloggers. (There’s also some rules about specific Mondays to post on, but hey, any day works!) – I like Atiya’s take on this and agree that any day will do just fine.
1. What I’m working on at the moment? At the moment I’m mostly spending my time on all things school related. I’ve slacked a little this semester so I’m trying to focus the majority of my time on my classes. I am however, trying to post on my blog at least once a week, and typically they fall on Mondays or Tuesdays (during the summer I will post twice a week). I’m also maintaining social media websites tied to my blog, all of which I’m slowly improving in my free time. A few factors have lead me to take a break this summer and focus on improving myself (physically, mentally, emotionally) since I have lost a bit of control over my life. Recently, I have finally held on to ways to reduce the stress in my life, and to worry less, but the summer will be the extra kick I need.
2. How does my work differ from others in my genre? I try not to compare my blog to others. I love that everyone’s blog has unique qualities to them, big and small. When it comes to my blog, I want to keep it somewhat professional, yet for my personality to show through. I can be quite random, awkward, and weird, but I love that about myself and I’d like that to be represented in my posts. I do love beauty, fashion, art, music, fitness, food, drawing, taking photos, but one of the main interests in my life is my faith. I’m still finding my way in the world of blogging and in life honestly. My blog is mostly just a creative outlet on which I can have fun sharing my thoughts and ideas with others. This summer I plan to work on how I will incorporate my faith into my blog. I don’t want it to be pushy or overwhelming, but instead positive, inspirational, and encouraging.
3. How does my writing and creative process work? Most times, when I need a break from studying or the stresses in my life I turn to my blog. Yes there’s a lot of work that gets put into a blog, but I definitely don’t see it as “hard work”. I see my blog as an escape in some ways, and I enjoy every bit of my time spent blogging. First an idea pops in my head, and then I’ll hurry to write it into a draft. Later, when I have time, I’ll go back and elaborate on the previous ideas. (I need to purchase a journal, desperately!) Taking photos has to be one of the more fun parts to creating a post, it gives me an excuse to use my camera, which tends to collect dust. I will admit that sometimes I get too excited about my posts, and I don’t thoroughly proof-read. It’s all really a fun learning process for me that I’ll get sorted out sooner or later.
4. Why do I write and create what do I do? I will say, I never thought that I’d enjoy writing so much, I hated it in school unless it was Creative Writing. I think it mostly relates to the fact that I get into these moods where I can talk about anything and everything. However, work, school, and even at home everyone can become busy (including myself) that it frustrates me if I can’t share my thoughts or communicate with others, so blogging has helped fill that hole. Concerning the beauty portion of my blog, I used to experiment with make-up when I was bored, and I’ve always had a small obsession with skin-care. Before my life and money were sucked away by college (I’m exaggerating, but only a bit), friends would sometimes ask my opinions about beauty products, so I love creating review posts. Ultimately, I’m hoping my blog will push me to spend more time on my interests and hobbies.
Thank you for checking out My Blog Tour, it was fun to dig deeper into my blogging process and what inspires me to blog. I can’t wait to read the responses of the amazing bloggers I’ve chosen!
I would have had this posted sooner, but I always have a hard time choosing other blogs to tag because there are so many that I would like to choose.
