So since Valentine’s day is coming soon, I wanted to do a little experimentation with my make-up. I wanted to create a wearable eye look that was shimmery slightly smokey.
I chose to use browns in my crease and as a base for my lid, and then a shimmery champagne-esque color in the center of my lid and inner-eye corner.
After applying my Urban Decay Primer Potion, I applied Naked from the Naked Palette as the base color for my lid and crease and then added Tease (Naked2 Palette) to blend my lid into the crease. I then added Buck to my crease from inner to outer corner, to darken the whole crease slightly.
Next I added a darker shimmery shadow (color unknown from a Victoria Secret Palette) to the outer crease area. After blending everything out, I added the shadow Darkhorse (Naked2) to the outer v area of my crease to add definition, and again blending this shadow. At the center of my lid and in the inner corner I applied a shimmery champagne shadow from the Make-Out Palette by L.A. Colors, and then applied Foxy (Naked2) to my brow bone.
Now for eyeliner, I used the L’oreal Lineur Intense liquid eyeliner to create a winged look, and using a black shadow I smudged the eyeliner near the inner corner of my eye. Then, I lined my lower lashes with Lollipops Eye Pencil and again smudged it out, but instead using Buck (Naked2) to soften the look. Lastly, I curled my lashes and applied the They’re Real Mascara by Benefit to my upper and lower lashes.
What’s Valentine’s Day without either a red or pink pout? So, I chose to use Bellapierre’s mineral lipstick in Burlesque to add color to the look!
(I’m still working on my application techniques, as you can definitely see with the lipstick.)
It was definitely fun creating this look, and this post. I hope to do more in the future, and to improve on both my application technique and these sorts of posts.
